In my role as Program and Planning Manager at the Southeast Service Cooperative (an educational service agency in southeast Minnesota) I was tasked with the job of improving our contact database in early 2009. My Executive Director informed me of a product called CEDARWOOD offered by the Professional Development Alliance. When we contracted with PDA, John Salzer was assigned as our primary contact and our database developer. I am pleased to provide a letter of recommendation for John, as I have had nothing but positive experiences with him over the last three years.
John is not only extremely talented technologically, but he is also able to work with clients to drill down to their specific needs. Prior to the actual development phase, John took the time to learn about our organization and truly listen to what we wanted to be able to do with the end product. He then took the foundation of the CEDARWOOD product and designed it to target our unique requests and needs. The training that he provided (both face-to-face, and online) helped our staff feel comfortable and confident with the system, which was a huge accomplishment in and of itself.
Once we implemented our new database, John continued to dedicate himself to our project and provide exceptional customer service. He made the effort to find a solution to every special request and unique customization that I inquired about. He put in extra time (including evenings and weekends) to create tools, features, and functions that were designed just for us. He was incredibly devoted and his solutions continue to save our staff HOURS of work on an ongoing basis. It seemed that no matter what challenge I presented him with, he would listen carefully, offer potential solutions, and implement them in a timely manner.
As a product, CEDARWOOD was a wonderful contact database, but it was John that made it work for my organization and for each of our staff members. I recommend John without reservation for any position that he feels would be a good fit. He is honest and cares enough to only commit to something when he is willing and able to give 100%.
